Got a BP monitor for the cat. The cuff fits, but she hisses before I even turn it on. Is this actually doable or just stress for the animal?
Anyone actually check their cat's blood pressure at home?

It’s doable but the stress response usually spikes the numbers. See keeping them still for the cuff for the handling technique. If you’re looking at a senior, check senior cat checklists too. Most of the time, home readings are garbage if the cat isn’t totally calm.
I tried this with Willow last year. The moment I lifted her tail, she went rigid. the white coat effect at home explains why. The owner’s anxiety leaks out. I stopped trying to get a number and just watched for other signs.
My Gizmo would eat the cuff if I tried this. 😂 But seriously, if you do it, make sure the size is right. cuff sizing for small paws is crucial. If the number is over 160 systolic, call the vet. what counts as high? has the breakdown.
