Vet prep before moving

Moving next month. Need to know what to do with the vet for Daisy and Sam. Sam gets really anxious and I don't want to make it worse by dragging him around. Daisy is a picky eater so I worry about weight loss during the stress. What are the must-do checks before we pack the boxes?

I would honestly wait until after the move. My last vet said the stress of the appointment is worse than the move itself. See Delaying the vet trip where I talked about this. Just do a quick visual check at home first.

No. Get them checked now. If something is wrong, you don't want to be dealing with it in a new apartment with no support. Sam's anxiety is a sign to act fast. Check out Anxious cat tips for how to handle the carrier. You need to know their baseline health before the stress hits.

If you are shipping them separately like Kristen was thinking, you need health certs anyway. See Shipping cats separately. But for a normal move, I say wait. Cost of two appointments now vs later. My Puff gets sick when I take him to the vet. Save the money.
