Managing nausea when a cat stops eating

I am so worried about Tater right now. She was diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease last month and her creatinine levels were really high. The vet said she needs dental work too, which is terrifying because I don't even know if she will recover from that. But the biggest problem is that she just keeps getting sick. She is vomiting small amounts of bile and looks like she is in pain. I am trying to manage the nausea symptoms but I don't know what to do. She used to love her food but now she just sits by the bowl and looks at me. I read Nausea but still eating but that is not quite what is happening here. She is not eating at all. I am scared I am doing something wrong.

If she is vomiting bile and not eating, call the vet today. Nausea is a symptom, not a diagnosis. The fact that she has dental work pending suggests pain might be a factor, which can make nausea worse. I would not try to treat this at home without professional guidance. Have you looked at Teeth and not eating? Pain from dental issues can cause a cat to stop eating entirely.

she might just be bored of the food. we warmed up busters food and he ate it. try Warming up the food to make it smell better. also check Signs of nausea to see if she is actually nauseous or just not interested. if she is drooling or yawning a lot it is likely nausea. if she just ignores the bowl it might be the food.

Thank you for the suggestions but I don't think it is just the food. She has been on the renal diet for weeks. I tried warming it up and even adding some flavor enhancer like in Flavor enhancers for renal food but she just turns her nose away. I am worried that if I give her something for the nausea it might interact with her kidney meds. Is it safe to use human meds? I found a thread about that but I am not sure if it applies to stage 3. I just want her to feel better and eat something. I am at my wit's end.

Stop guessing. Call the vet. If she is stage 3 and not eating, she is in trouble. You need to know if the nausea is from the kidneys, the teeth, or something else. Don't use human meds. I saw a thread about Human meds for cat nausea? and the answers were all over the place. Some people say it is fine, some say it is dangerous. The only safe answer is to let the vet prescribe something appropriate. Do not wait another day.
