My cat Daisy is 9 and she wakes me up at 5am every single day. She sits on the edge of the bed and meows until I get up. I know she is a picky eater but I feed her at 7am. How do I stop this? It is ruining my sleep.
Daisy wants attention at 5am
yo same vibe. my duke is 3 and he goes full zoomies at 3am. i tried the tiring him out thing but he still wakes me up. honestly just ignore him? that worked for me eventually. he learned i dont get up.
I worry that ignoring her might be bad for her health? My Bella is 6 and has asthma, so we have to be strict with food times. See Bella's feeding issues for details. Is Daisy maybe hungry earlier than you think? Or is it just attention seeking? I am not sure how to tell the difference without waking her up.
It feels like she is performing for you. My Simba used to do this, staring at the wall then looking at me. I wrote about it in Simba's morning staring. I found that giving her a big play session at 4:30 am helped, but I needed a timer so I didn't fall back asleep. Also, check if she is actually hungry or just bored.
